Rest in peace, sir!
Good afternoon, "STORMY" Family;
It is with, immeasurable, sadness and disappointment, that we announce the loss of one of our key creative team. Our Transcriber/Arranger for the bulk of the formative scoring work on "STORMY" over the years, Christopher White, passed away this past weekend, after a long illness.
A native of Brooklyn, Christopher W. White began playing bass professionally at the age of 15. He has performed, recorded and toured with Nina Simone, Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Taylor, Duke Ellington, Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, Chick Corea and Billy Cobham.
Mr. White has received National Endowment for the Arts grants for Jazz Composition. In addition, he received a "New Forms" composition grant from the Inter-Arts Program of the N.E.A., as well as, a Jazz Composition Fellowship from the New Jersey State Arts Council.

"We are deeply saddened by the transition of our dear Chris. He was a gentle spirit who showed such expertise in music whether it was arranging, scoring or playing. He will be missed tremendously."
- Dominique Denman, Executive Producer
At Sugar Hill Records and Publishing he transcribed the entire Sugar Hill Records catalog and, in conjunction with Sugar Hill’s legal counsel, developed a notation system for RAP.
Christopher functioned as a “chart maker” in New York City for many of the producers and artists in the popular music scene including: Van McCoy, Roberta Flack, Loleatta Holloway, Geoffrey Holder, Gordon Edwards and Stuff.
He was the personal librarian to Charlie Smalls, the composer of Broadway’s "The Wiz". He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts.
We grieve his loss, and send love, and light, and healing to his family and friends.
"Here's Love!"
Warmly,
Dominique Denman, Kellie Turner, and Marcinho Savant
